Hair stylist are HIGHLY needed right now!plese help me with my hair situation.?
its over bleach and styled damaged, basicaly its been fried by styling and the bleach dose realy dry the hair out. product do protect your hair but not fully and if you do it most days it will be damaged. the ends of your hair are snapping of, this is what it looks like, all differant ways and the feathering effect you have is because its also snapped od, puffyness off hair is frazzled hair.. im affraid the damaged is already done, the only thing you can do now is have a good trim realy condition good and try and lay off the heat.Hair stylist are HIGHLY needed right now!plese help me with my hair situation.?
they could just be dead ends. try cutting about an inch or so off the bottom. its probably from so much heat on it but dead end just happen t everyone anyways.

I'm very attracted to the man who is my hair stylist. He is 50 years old and incredibly talented with hair.

I would like to go out for drinks with him, but I'm not sure how to make this happen without bluntly coming out and asking. I find him incredibly sexy and would like to pursue something. Does this usually happen between hairstylists and their clients? How should I know if he's into me as well? I'm 30 and have just started going to him.I'm very attracted to the man who is my hair stylist. He is 50 years old and incredibly talented with hair.
I know what you mean - I've also got a desirable stylist, except he's married! And then so am I.

The best advice I can give you is to enjoy your time with him when he's working on your hair - because then and only then his entire focus is on you. If this man is very involved with the community, chances are he will not readily get involved with a client. But don't give up on the situation...be your friendly self and see what happens. If it doesn't go anywhere, you might have to be bold and take a chance.I'm very attracted to the man who is my hair stylist. He is 50 years old and incredibly talented with hair.
He may b gay so prepare urself. If he's not, find out if he's single and if he is-ask him out 4 a drink.
just ask him out for a drink after work and go from there. you don't have to be blunt about, just casually go up and ask him if he like to join you for drinks....

good luck!!
Flirt w/ him a little. Tell him how nice his touch feels, etc. Over exaggerate the thrill you have in his work. Ask him questions about him tio show you're interested. Then, aks what he likes to do for fun, where he likes to go out to, etc. %26amp; ask him if he'd like to take you some time.
well, maybe you can get a very late apointment and when you are done, just ask him out, cause he'll be done with work, and you guys can go to dinner, or coffee or something, and don't believe all of those guys saying he's gay, my hair stylist is a guy, and he has a wife and 5 kids!!
he's prollay gay if he is does hair
what if he likes you too and asking himself the same question. But may be sometimes it is better to say directly and hear either pleasant ';yes'; or damned ';no'; .
wow, you know that 99% of men hairstylists are gay right?? Well i guess you'll find out when you two are fighting over that cute guy at the bar.
he is probably gay
Let me see..... 50 yrs old...... Hairsytlist......... Male....... I would be questioning his sexual preference if I were you

Hair Stylist ruined my hair!!! Will they give me refund?

I had my hair permed last week, it looks awful the curls have fallen out and it just looks frizzy plus when I run my fingers through my hair I can feel small patches where the hair is growing back as if the hair has been singed away. You cant see this damage but you can feel the patches all over but very small.

They are trying to fob me off and give me more treatments free of charge or a re do of the perm and saying that the perm is really good but I just want my money back! I dont want to cause a scene, have I got rights? Any links or past experiences would help!?Hair Stylist ruined my hair!!! Will they give me refund?
Yes u can have the money back as the result is not according to your expectations don't step back in case u have to creat a scene it's your right and their duty too to serve d customer according to her need.

No need to take any kind of treatments if u don't want and don't forget there is no chemical less treatments in parlour and chemical will again make d hair rough.

U can sue them but have d proofs such as payment bill and photographs of the damage caused.Hair Stylist ruined my hair!!! Will they give me refund?
No really - if they have offered to put it right then really you have to give them that opportunity. If they fail to put it right then you can demand your money back.
i'm sure they will if you're not happy. they are there to satisfy the customer, so if you're not satisfied by the outcome see if they can do the hairstyle you actually want refund of course.
take pictures of the damage before it looks better, of the patches on your head. Ask for a refund tell see what they say, if they say no tell them you're going to sue. :)
Maybe it matters who the hair dressers are

Some might not allow but some may,

If not complain and maybe there give you another hair cut or something.

Good luck!
not really you can complain though
Unfortunately, no. They did the job and you can't undo that.. :\

Just get the free treatments. :\
Take the free treatments!
Well with any product in the uk you have legally entitled to return it if you are not happy within 7 days. Hairdressers usually just say they will make it better again and you could choose that again or if not then ask for a refund, its consumer demand, they should give you a refund. If they still dont then press for one and if not then say you will never have your hair done in their again and not recomend it to any friends or family. And if you're feeling particually evil then you could write a letter or email to your local newspaper saying what they did to your hair and that they would give refund, and if they get nasty with you for asking for one you could put that in the paper again.

Hair stylist messed up my hair!!! What to do?

I went to get a cut and blonde highlights in my light/medium brown hair. I had it last summer but my stylist wasnt there because she had a baby....so today I went to a new one and asked for the most experienced stylist....... and she cuts it fine (a little shorter than I wanted originally).....but then when she highlighted it...it was like 4 streaks of platinum blonde on top with large 1-2 inch pieces of brown inbetween.

I made her fix it by highlighting in between to have less brown chunks... and she ended up making the whole top of my head (except a streak or so) platinum blonde. The other lady I used will be in next week supposedly. But I paid $100 and sat there for 3 hours.

What should I do or say if I were to call them about it? Will they let the other stylist (the good one) redo it free? If so... what should I do with this platinum blonde top layer....just ask for a dark blonde color on my whole head instead?Hair stylist messed up my hair!!! What to do?
I think you should ask if they'll get the good stylist to do it for free. Also, you should tell all your friends never to go to that salon, and if they do, Never let (her name) do their hair. Youre doing them a favor.Hair stylist messed up my hair!!! What to do?
get a medium bolnde toner....they will do it for you and if you tell them that the girl didnt do what you asked for they should fix it for free. thats how fantastic sams does it... try it... my mom works there.but if it's some other place idk if they will fix it for free...

Amber
I don't know what they'd do but I'd tell them what happened to see what they can do about it and know the bad job that stylist did.
they probably will let you do it for free. if not, jsut buy some dye at the store (make sure it's good dye!) and dye the brown back where you want it. ask ur mom or someone to help though, and never do ti yourself. or, you can try a new color. good luck! =D
they should do it for free. but if no t dont waste your time on them. Just go to the store pick up the best most expensive hair dye and do it yourself. It's hard depending on someone else to do your hair.
When you go to a reputable salon generally their policy is to make the customer happy. If you are unhappy with your color contact the salon and let them know what the problem is, most likely they will not charge you again to fix your hair. If they do charge you, I would suggest finding another salon in the future.
complain and get your money back.
When she was done you should have asked for your money bcak, because it was not what you wanted.
Is it at the same place or did you go to a completely new salon?

If its the same place call and say you werent happy with how your colouring turned out and ask if you can have the girl you usually have fix it when she is back.

If its a completely new place I would either just never go back or go in and ask for another stylist to fix what they can.
You should not have paid her.
hi im a hair stylist.

she sould have to do it again for free. i wudnt go for a full head colour u probs need a full head of low lights. if you dont want the blonde as light you need to ask for a toner all over it as well to get rid of the brightness. good luck. be stern but be nice. you will get more with sweet with bitter x

Hair toner made my roots yellow but my stylist said it would wash out?

So i had my hair toned because i didn't like my blonde hair color so my stylist said we would put toner in it to make it lighter. then she said that my roots look really yellow becuase of the toner and it will wash out? is this true because it looks like my hair was white and someone peed on my rootsHair toner made my roots yellow but my stylist said it would wash out?
ooh ... toner is permanent so i don't see how yellow would wash out. yellow is usually the result of hair that was too dark to go a certain blonde color. that is usually the actual color of the hair and i've never seen it wash out. toner usually removes yellow tones so i don't understand why it would do that. if you like the rest of your hair that white blonde color, you can use a high lifting hair dye in the same color to lighten it. loreal preference makes one in ';ultra light ash blonde'; which is more of a platinum/white blonde. this dye has 30 volume peroxide instead of 20 like all other hair dye so it would really lighten that yellow color. and since it's ash, it will work better at neutralizing that yellow. this is the link to the color: http://www.lorealparisusa.com/_us/_en/de鈥?/a>

try applying it to only your roots at first. leave it on your roots for 20 minutes, and at the 20 minute mark, work the rest of the color to the rest of your hair and rinse it all out at 30 minutes. it should work really well, i had this problem once and i did this same thing. good luck!Hair toner made my roots yellow but my stylist said it would wash out?
i think it would wash out

Why do hair stylists use foil when doing highlights?

What is the purpose of the foil and what would happen without it?Why do hair stylists use foil when doing highlights?
when hair is to long to pull through a highlighting cap I use foil or when I only want certain pieces to get highlighted and so on. The use in foil is that it wont ';bleed'; onto the other hair around it and also when the bleach warms up the foil is receptive to that which makes it process faster. Why do hair stylists use foil when doing highlights?
Foil is used just to keep the hair and colors separate. Some stylist use different types of paper too. I doesn't necessarily have to be foil. Foil is most regularly used because it's easy to manipulate and it stays where you put it.
it's to keep certain areas free of the chemicals, otherwise you'd just be bleaching it all, hence no highlights
I asked my stylist the same question and she said that it is to make sure the the product doesn't bleed onto other strands of hair and ruin the ';highlight'; effect.
It is to prevent the dye from transferring onto the rest of your hair!! if foil wasn't use the you wouldn't really have highlights because the dye would spread all over!! hope that helps!!
The foil keeps the hair color separated without seepage. It is a more precise way for hairstylists when applying highlights.

  • Need a change in life/career ....Hair Stylist???

Hi Y'all! I want a career that offers some flexible scheduling and gives me an opportunity to be my own boss. I really don't like ';desk jobs'; since that's what I've done for the past 10 years. My friend is a hair stylist, she's great and loves what she does. I'm somewhat creative, and I think with proper training I can do this. Plus I love interacting with people, but I'm worried about the ';drama'; that comes with a job like this. My husband is worried because he thinks this job won't pay very well and that it's too cut throat. Can someone shed some light? Should I go down this road and leave my cushy office job? Or should I just stay where I'm at? Right now I'm an office manager making about $42,000.00. Please help!!Need a change in life/career ....Hair Stylist???
I'm thinking about doing the same thing, only because I want to be able to more freely express myself with hairstyles and clothes, etc. Working in an office makes me feel like such an old lady. Creative people can get depressed if they do not release their artistic energy. I would go for it!! Good luck to you.

    Hair stylist/colorist/beautician advice needed?

    Long story short

I got my hair did the original plan was that i wanted a dark brown with red and blonde highlights, but it didn't turn out that way

due to the fact that i was going from black to lighter colors they of course used bleach. They had to bleach my hair three times due to the fact that I had dyed it black every three months for the past... three years. There was ALOT of dye in it. They finally got it a blonde color and decided to use that bleach color as the 'blonde' highlights

They then foiled in the red and the brown. However, i can't tell. This is what it ended up looking like

    http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a243/queenoftragedy/Me/HNI_0016.jpg

I like it, I'm not going to lie. It's different, and that's what I wanted.

Anyways, back to the point. They used SOOO much bleach that my hair, as i'm sure you can guess... is just 'rough' is the only word I can think of. it's hard to brush, overall it just... doesn't feel soft bottom line.

They told me not to use moisturising hair shampoo/conditioner due to the fact that it can force the color out.

BUT I NEED IT. my hair has no moisture in it right now.

A couple months ago, when my hair was bad I bought a quart of shampoo and a quart of conditioner of the Paul Micheal Tea Tree Mint Lavender moisture stuff... it worked AMAZING my hair in like three months went from briddle to strong enough to go through three things of bleach.

So what i'm asking is can I go back to that shampoo/conditioner? Do i have to use the color stuff I bought (i did buy some color lock in shampoo/conditioner from the hair salon, but it does NOT have any kind of moisturizer in it)

And I mean, due to the fact that my hair is mostly just bleach... the color really wouldn't fade, right?Hair stylist/colorist/beautician advice needed?
I got my hair bleached at the salon and they told me the same thing! I used Biolage shampoo that wasn't the color lock stuff and my hair was just fine. Shampoo that isn't color locking probably makes it fade a tiny bit, but it definitely won't make any drastic differences to your hair if you use it!

    Hair Stylist or Masseuse?

Ok, I'm in need of a career change. I can't keep working dead-end food service jobs, but going to college for a degree right now seems a little unreachable as I have trouble affording rent on my salaries. So my question has 3 parts (keep in mind I do want go to college eventually, but this could serve as a back-up career.)

    1) Between hair stylist and masseuse schools, which one is cheaper?

    2) Between the two schools, which one is quicker?

    3) Between the two jobs, which on is better in general (hours, pay, etc.)?

Also, I think it is important to note that I do have a felony conviction on my record.

Thanks for any help you may give!Hair Stylist or Masseuse?
well cosmetology school is college ... lol it is a fun and forever changing career so how could you beat that ! i live in missouri and the cosmo schools here are 10k-18k depending on what you want to learn and whether it is a beauty school or a college... ( there is a difference ) i finished in about 55 weeks and you aren't limited to how much you can make if you are willing to work hard and you are good at what you do then there is money to be made ...... i dint know anything about being a masseuse..... i couldn't imagine massaging people all day everyday for hours a day !! so it doesn't interest me ....good luck with which ever you choose

okay first off i LOVE your hair it is but if you wanted it the same you wouldn't be asking for help so don't do the red hair you will regret it. i would cut about 4 inches off, and if it wa me i wouldn't change the color but, if you really HAVE to i would put golden blonde and chesnut read hightlights in it. like here http://farm1.static.flickr.com/218/535520417_a59cb0a9a1_m.jpg

but of course never cut your hair like this and also bangs would look very nice on you.Hair stylist? or good taste girls i need advice? :)?
You are so pretty with your dark hair! But if you have to dye it red:) I would say the 2nd one, im thinking that to get it as bright as the first one, you will have to bleach it then dye it bright red, and that is really bad for your hair. Plus, it will fade to an ugly orange color after a while. The second is really pretty, maybe you could dye it alittle bit darker red.
DO NOTHING TO IT!! IT LOOKS GREAT THE WAY IT IS !!! but this is cute!

    Hair Stylist in Savannah, Georgia?

I need a hair stylist that is located in Savannah, Georgia. Anyone know anybody? I would prefer they're specialty to be edgy, wild, and fun cuts. I basically have my hair how I want it, but it could be changed and it does need to be trimmed up. I would like someone who isn't afraid to razor my hair especially when I ask for it to be. I've had a stylist who talked me out of it although I really would have preferred it be done. She also used to be really great, but recently I feel she has failed me and hasn't given me what I wanted.

So any recommendations, please give them!

  • Hair stylist suddenly gets nasty?

I've been going to a hairstylist for about 2 years and she's given me good haircuts, highlights etc. Suddenly she's acting nasty and I give her good tips etc.. She asks questions about my personal life, she complains because I don't work etc... I tried going to other people in the salon and she shoots me dirty looks or makes jerky comments. I have no idea why she's acting strange because I gave her great tips etc.. I feel soo unwelcome at the salon. Should I tell the owner or just change salons?Hair stylist suddenly gets nasty?
i would suggest both. maybe shes having personal problems.Hair stylist suddenly gets nasty?
Nobody has the right to make you feel that way.

Personally, if I was sat having my hair done and she made a comment I'd ***** back but that's just me and I wouldn't think twice about telling the owner, but first I'd try and find out if I'd accidentally done something to offend the stylist. If she doesn't realise how bitchy she's been, chances are she may calm down. But if not, tell the owner or manager of the salon, you may not be the only person she's causing to feel uncomfortable.

OR you could try a different salon for your next few hair appointments then go back and if she comments that you've not been in for a while just say ';yeah, I've been trying a different salon, the stylists there are really nice, they really make me feel welcome there,'; or something along those lines so that she gets the point, and adopts a better attitude.

But don't waste your money tipping her unless she can locate her manners and loses her bitchy attitude.
Seems like she feels like she knows you well enough now that she feels comfortable enough to say whatever she feels like saying. I know the feeling cause it happened to me at my last salon and I refuse to go there now cause the woman started telling me what haircuts I should get and etc etc, lol. I say just tell her you don't wanna talk about those things when you're there or just keep changing the subject. If she doesn't take the hint, then find a new hairdresser.
If you were happy there for 2 years, it might be worth it to ask the stylist if you've done something to offend her because you've noticed a change in the way she's acting towards you. If she's rude and nasty talk to the owner to try to solve things. If this doesn't work change salons.

And if its really not worth the hassle to you, just switch.
You have probably done something that you haven't told us, or don't know about. You have hurt her a lot. You should get it resolved... or just go to another salon. Of course, tell the owner as well. It might be easy to fix up... or not. But at least you have tried. Giving good tips are not the answer to everything. That is only in the US that money solves all problems. You have a choice of where you can go.
shes just jealous you don't work. ask her what the problem is then tell her to be nice or you are going to her boss , then if she is still nasty tell her boss.
    Do both.

She shouldn't be treating customers badly.

Now you should get back at her and try to get her fired!!
Go give your money to someone else. You don't want to be paying her for being nasty to you!
    Both
F@#k that B!^$%, tell her to give you, your money back!!!

If you keep talking eventually you will forget your nervous feelin.

Just talk about things like hair care, why you feel this job is going to help you later in life, what you want to be when you are older, how much you appreciate the chance to get a job, and don't do everything on one person. Just do enough to show a skill you are best at but don't show everything.

go to a hair salon .. take the print out with you .. as easy as it is :)Hair Stylist I need help plz I want to get my haircut like this what do I ask for?
ok in both of those josh's hair is different i'd ask for the first photo a number 3 or 4 in the back blending in with the side layering on the front with ann angle tword the face. the second one is basic its just a fade with long fringe .
print out a picture and go to the salon. they will take it from there. just make sure not to get something that you would hate in the future. :] hope this helps
just show the picture you want to the hairstylist. they should be able to tell how to cut it.
Print picture #2 and take it to a stylist. She would probably ask a couple questions about the back but she can do it from a picture. I hope I helped!

Will the hair stylist be able to fix my hair?

okay so a couple months ago i decided i was a professional hair stylist , i was sick of my old hair and took some scissors and cut my hair i only have 2 layers so i just cut straight across the longest layer is almsot pretty even , and the shorter layer goes straight half way then it gets uneven, i relized i msessd up and i thought ';hmm maybe if i cut my bangs too, noone will notice the rest of my hair'; so i cut them too. i cut straight across. they're starting to grow back a bit. and they're medimium length.

but it still looks messsed up ..

so do you guys thinka hair stylist will be able to fix my hairrrr??

and also do you guys have any ideas on how i could cut it coz schoool starts in a month and i wanna get a new haircut by then..

    kk thanks

xxxxxxxxWill the hair stylist be able to fix my hair?
Oh yeah, a good stylist will be able to. I would just find a salon, (no super-clips) and go in and tell them what you want. I've jacked up my own hair so many times and my stylists has always been able to bring me back to a normal look! Will the hair stylist be able to fix my hair?
Yes fortunately layers are generally easy to fix. Because some parts of your hair is shorter than the others from how you messed it up, she'll have to take off probably a little more than you would like. But it will deffinately look better. Uhm a good hair cut... I'm a big fan of short layers.

    = )
Oh yeah, a hairstylist can fix it that pretty easy its just that your hair will be shorter because she will have to cut more off to make it even. If you want a new cut before school talk to a hairstylist about it. Don't try and do it yourself again.
The is incredibly easy fix and any stylist at SuperCuts can fix it for you!

P.S. layers do not have numbers, it is a continuous stack of lengthening hair, so you cannot have 2!
A hair stylist at a good salon (read: not SuperCuts) will definitely be able to fix your hair, but it will definitely have to be considerably shorter than it is now.

Did my hair stylist use the wrong coloring on my hair?

Hi so I have dark brown hair but I wanted to get it lightened some.. and my stylist put some in but in sunlight it made my hair look ver orangeish redish...is that what its suppose to look like in the sunlight?

Here is me with my hair and lamp light on it..it also looks auburn colored in natural sunlight

http://s607.photobucket.com/albums/tt153/chapmanpanther3/?action=view%26amp;current=Photo129.jpgDid my hair stylist use the wrong coloring on my hair?
Did she use a dye or bleach to lighten it?

If she used bleach, your color is probably normal because your natural hair might have a reddish undertone to it. If she used dye, she probably messed up if that's not what you asked for. Next time you get your hair done again, ask for your hair to look like a neutral color when it's done %26amp; they should be able to figure it out.

If she used bleach though, you can probably go to a sally's beauty supply store and get a toner....get a GREEN or BLUE toner %26amp; it'll get most of the reddish %26amp; orangeish look out, but you might have to do it a few times. (Green toners get the red look out, blue toners get the orange look out)Did my hair stylist use the wrong coloring on my hair?
Well, it looks good especially with your eyes.
Its def not blond but from what I can see it looks good. Nice for summer. I would not suggest going lighter, trust me it is hard on your hair.

As time goes on it will get lighter anyway. It will have more of a natural sunlit look to it, but may not if you go lighter.

    Leave it alone.
it looks like cuz of the sun light

You are well on your way for the shear fact that you are aware of your body type. I find so many people haven't a clue and dress like teenagers or like a size 0. There are so many factors to consider..

Don't spend a lot of money on clothing for work because you will get stains on them and it isn't fun having to replace expensive garments. In the fall/winter, wear boots with tights, skirts and cute tops. Buy trendy items at inexpensive stores - the trends will change quickly and being in this industry requires that you are on the cutting edge of fashion. I personally buy a lot of black and then accessorize with color and trendy shoes. But make sure your shoes are comfortable because you'll be standing all day.
start with a basic tee-shirt and short/jeans and work your way up

not a lot of people dress up though.

wear a jacket with a cool shirt under it once in awhile.

you could just go to salons and see whay they wear
All black is always a great choice. Go for a nice comfortable pair of wedge sandals. A great pair of black slacks from new york %26amp; Co. a cute black shirt. Perhaps a black CASUAL blazer, if you are top heavy.
You can wear a bright color shirt that complements your hair eyes or skin

    HAIR STYLIST help me please!?

even if youre not a hair stylist, your help would be GREAT!

i have wavy/curly hair (NOT tight curls), its blonde, and right now about 4 inches below my shoulder. im thinking of going short! but im still not sure. plus i got bangs last time and they look horrible when i straighten them and then my hair is natural.

any suggestions? my hair cuts SOON!

pictures would be great, too! :)

    THANKS!

oh and im a girl hah.HAIR STYLIST help me please!?
ok so i used to have the same length hair and my hair naturally sounds the same as yours. and in december i got that hair cut that looks like victoria beckham...except shorter in the back...and i gotta say...i looked great, but its a huge pain in the *** growing it out...HUGE! and takes forever, and it gets to a mullet stage where i get annoyed and usually just get it cut again...so dont go short short unless you know you wont get annoyed when you want to grow it out haha. but when my hair was longer i loved to just have layers and a side swept bang because itd look great with everything i did to my hair whether it was starighten it, let it dry naturally, curled it big-small-medium irons, and kanokanoked it. its always a safe and sophistacted bet! :) hope that helped.HAIR STYLIST help me please!?
I'm not a hairstylist xP but i guess i'll attempt to help.

I think going short is really cute! I really gives volume in your hair and it makes the face shape kind of rounder and cuter!

Get side bangs or just no bangs with them.

I recommend you to cut your hair about just alittle above shoulder legnth. I'm not a big fan of hair that's too short.

    http://www.smh.com.au/ffximage/2006/09/0鈥?/a>

Arielle Kebbel's hair is gorgeous!! Even if her hair is straight, that kind of legnth would look great on wavy/curly hair too!

    Hair stylist drama....?

Ok... so I hired this woman by word of mouth. She is new in town and just getting her business started and I thought I'd help her get some business going... The first meeting we had setup she had to reschedule... something to do with her son. I can understand that, I have a kid too, so I was ok with it. Then when she finally did show up she seemed really bitchy and I did not like her hairstyle or makeup style... wasn't really confident with her making me look and feel good but still decided to go with it. She wouldnt give me a direct price but just kept saying it'll be cheaper than anyone else in town if you let me use pictures for promotional purposes... We were supposed to have our run through tomorrow (my wedding is on the 18th, 9 days away) and she called today to say she couldnt do it because she still had to go out of town to get stuff for my hair and that we needed to reschedule again for wednesday. I agreed, reluctantly... then tonight at 10:00 PM.... 10!! I have a 15 month old son!!!! She called to see what color my sister wants done in her hair...

So I'm PISSED. Isnt that something that should be able to be decided when shes in the chair... or atleast call at a decent hour tomorrow!??

I told my sister to hang up. that it was inappropriate for her to be calling at such an hour and that I'm ready to get a new hairstylist.

So... am I right to be mad? Would you be mad? Would you be looking for someone new? What would you do?Hair stylist drama....?
She has given you no reason to trust her to do the makeup and hairstyle that you want. She is not set up as a beauty salon and will have to purchase the makeup that she will use. If she buys quality makeup, she will be spending quite a bit. Is she planning to charge you the full cost of everything she has to buy? She also has to purchase the items needed to do your hair. Again, she will be paying retail prices for these products as she will not be buying the quantity needed to get a wholesale price. She has not yet quoted you a price and can charge anything she wants after she has done the job and you have no recourse. You are going to end up with a look that she thinks is nice and you have already decided that you do not like the type of look that she likes. Why, again, are you having her do your look for one of the most important days of your life?Hair stylist drama....?
You should be mad. You should fire her and find another hairstylist, one who is a professional (which this woman is not, and *that* is why she charges less).

Yet another example of a wedding vendor promising that they will charge you less than others would, then providing you with less than what you agreed upon. Never hire anyone who charges significantly less than the going rate - there's always a reason, and the reason is always bad. Always.
she doesnt sound very realiable if you ask me, what if she doesnt show up the day you get married cause of some unknown reason. I'd quickly find a stylist that is nice and that you can trust to do a great job. Be as mad as you want at the woman cause shes really disrespectful calling you at that hour and being rude to you.
After 8 pm, it better be important, after 10 it better be life threatening or don't call me...

I think you're right to be po'd. If you do find someone else, let her know in advance and offer to buy any supplies she's purchased for your hair (don't let her keep it of course). Follow up in writing in case she tries to say you have a contract.
Well congrats on the wedding. If I were you I would be finding someone else. She sounds like a person that is not trust worth. I would hate for the day of the wedding to come and her not show up. Good luck.
This kind of stuff pisses me off because I do freelance work %26amp; my clients are important to me. I just happen to be a licensed ';non practicing'; hairstylist as well so it's a double whammy. Yes, it's rude.

First of all, kids are not an excuse. I don't have any %26amp; I know you understand her, but it's highly unprofessional to bring your personal life %26amp; drama into your business. She could have been more professional %26amp; used a difference excuse but she used the mom excuse because maybe she knew you would relate %26amp; she was probably lying anyway.

Then she shows up with a serious lack of skills, care, or concern %26amp; makes you feel uncomfortable. Bad business. And WTF is she picking up for your hair? I only do friends %26amp; family %26amp; I'm pretty well stocked on colors, developers, etc.

Thirdly, fourthly, and fifthly, she should have given you a clear price. Why you didn't challenge her on that is beyond me. Who wants to wonder whether it's going to be $100 or $1,000?

And lastly, I don't give a sh!t if she's busy %26amp; only has time to return calls at 10pm, that's on her, and you should never assume a client is even awake past 8pm at the latest. She's either hustling %26amp; overworked, needs an assistant, or just isn't up to par %26amp; might have been drinking all day. Who knows. In any case, yes it's unprofessional %26amp; I would be pissed too.

And why is she putting her lack of availability on you by saying that she's going out to buy stuff for YOUR hair like that's a reason? That should have been done a long time ago. If I was doing your hair, I would be more stressed than you are, and would have all my T's crossed %26amp; all my I's dotted because I'm responsible %26amp; I wouldn't stress out a bride.
Actually my mom goes to a hairstylist that works at home, and talking at that hour is fairly reasonable.

Still, I would have fired her long before, for being so unreliable and not even giving me a price, and for the fact that I hated her work!

If you really like her, ask her not to call at that time again. she won't. If you don't, then look for someone new. I don't think that you should blow up on her-- no use for either of you.

    Edit:

Oh gotcha. Well as I said up to you. Personally I wouldn't have hired someone that I didn't know or that didn't work at a salon for my wedding. Again, if you want to stay with her tell her that you can't talk at that hour-- if you are trying to be so helpful, hiring a new stylist in town, the feedback would help her for other customers too.
I personally don't think 10pm is late at all, but then my mom IS a self employed business woman, and receives calls that late, if not later. But she would never call someone else that late.

But having said that, this woman sounds like a horrible business woman. You have no obligation to help her start her business, so I'd drop her and find someone who's work you actually like.

How do i describe scene/emo hair to my stylist?

want scene/emo hair and i have tried pictures and they still messed it up..can some one (preferably a stylist) step by step how to explain it to them? please!!How do i describe scene/emo hair to my stylist?
tell the person you want it cut with a razor, you also want lots of choppy layers and you don't want your layers blended. that is key, you do not want your layers blended. Also tell he/she you want your firs layer in the back to be very short. a very short top layer will give you extra volume without the effort.

but it is still a good idea to bring a picture so the stylist has a visual to work from.

hope that helped :-)How do i describe scene/emo hair to my stylist?
Just tell them to razor it, and make it have lots of chunky layers, mostly on top.
also if you gave them pics and they still have no idea maybe go to a better hair stylist..
    Show her a Picture
razor cut with choppy layers and side fringe

'Experiance'..Ha, Cutting Barbie hair is completely different then cutting human hair.

Do you know you have to cut hair wet?..Do you know you have to do Sections and take tiny sections down?..Do you have the right scissors?..and Do you know how to hold HAIR scissors the right way?...If not..Don't cut her hair..Please..You'll just screw it up....Go to a Cosmetology school, and get trained, before you cut Human hair.
i would say the first hair cut that you need to perform is a bob there is no way that you could go wrong there, after that first head go to your local beauty store and by you a manikin then enroll yourself in beauty school
go to college cutting barbies hair is COMPLETELY different to cutting human hair
I think that you should go to a hairstylist school

I REALLY NEED BEST ANSWERS! :D

Hair stylist disagrees with what I want to do? Listen or go elsewhere?

I decided to have my hair professionally done again to light ash brown. Now as I mentioned, my natural hair color is med ashy brown. When I got my hair cut today, I made an appt with my next month to have my hair colored. When I told my stylist I wanted to go brunette, she totally disagreed with me. She kept emphasizing I had a face for blonde hair only and blah blah blah! It was annoying. She was pushy about keeping the blonde too. I feel a little skpetical about having her do my hair now. Isn't it my choice? Or should I keep blonde and listen up?Hair stylist disagrees with what I want to do? Listen or go elsewhere?
well they usually know what they are talking about but it IS your choice. if u wanna go brunette the do it! i would go 4 what u want and tell her if she doesnt want to give that 2 u u r gonna go elseware.Hair stylist disagrees with what I want to do? Listen or go elsewhere?
Maybe she was afraid that she would ruin your hair because you have the natural blonde hair. Alot of women who have dark hair want to go lighter so maybe she did not want to ruin your natural light color. If you really want to change your hair color and she does not want to do it for you, then maybe you need to see a different stylist and get another opinion.
I think you should go with how you feel. Hair dressers always feel they know whats best for everyones hair and they dont. They just know the basics. I went thru a similar situation when I told my hair dresser I want my hair to be a fire red. She told me she didnt think that would be good for me and she gave me a reddish brown color. Several weeks later, someone else changed my hair color to the color I wanted and i LOVED it. When she bumped into me and saw the new color all she could say was ';who did that';. Now to this day she gives me what I ask for because she knows i have no problem going to someone else to do it. I feel you should go for what you want, other people will always try to convince you otherwise. Hairdressers know about hair and har products they arent the people who determine if a color is right for you. Their opinions are just that-their opinions.
If it were me, I would choose another stylist............walk in, talk to one, pick out a color, talk to her/him and get a 'feel' intuition from the stylist.......................

If that is not the one, go somewhere else, word of mouth, a good reputation, really means alot, especially in your situation................check with friends.........also, you can bring in the pic of the color you are looking toward and talk about it...........the pushing of the blonde does not do it for anyone.....pushy is not the way to get a client.
they should be cool with what you want to do. rather than forceing you to go with a color you don't want. if you really want to go darker make an appt with a different stylist at the same salon or mention it to the manager that the stylist is not listening to what the customer wants.
It's true that a stylist knows what's best for you. But take my situation into mind. I asked for a chocolate brown hair color with brown and auburn highlights. NO! What did she give me instead? Brown, black, orange, blond brown hair O_O'

I was so mad. If you want a specific color, go for it! There is nothing wrong with trying something new. You live and learn. Some stylists need to understand this.
think about it for a little while, but i think you should do what YOU want... no one knows you as well as yourself and your friends and family. ask them and see what they think... but your stylist should not, and cannot tell you what to do... you need to let her know, but idk if you should go else where. a salon cannot be defined by one persons actions. if possible try a new stylist....

    have a nice day!

    --jaylala
What ever happened to ';the customer is always right';? It is your hair and as a cosmetology student I know you're supposed to give advice, but ultimately it is up to the client. Go elsewhere, a hairstylist shouldn't make you uncomfortable.
Take yourself to a new dresser!! IT'S YOUR HAIR!!! Tell her it's wat you want of you'll find a new stylist!!! THat's so not right for her to do that!! Your paying arent you?? Get wat you want with your money!!.....鈾ensie
hair stylists should respect your decison you don't have to go to a different salon mabye just a different stylist

Ok, I got my hair cut at a salon today instead of a barber shop that I usually go to. (He went out of business.) So, i get my hair cut and pay the bill 13.95. No biggie. So, I guess my question is how much should I leave for a 14.00 hair cut, if any at all?

If you want to grow it out faster, just leave it. It's worth the wait... the hairdresser is 99% likely to shave it shorter and it will take even more time to grow out...

OR. you could just ask for them to shave it back evenly, with the risk of the hairdresser taking off more than needed. Those are the only two ways you can do it...

The last way would be to use styling clay/gel to cover up the mistakes and make it look cool and choppy, like with Gatsby moving rubber. Can the hair stylist fix my uneven hair? Why did it grow back uneven?
My hair grows uneven, so that's why I get it trimmed every few weeks. You can get a Pink/Rihanna hair style, because it won't need to be even. When it grows longer, you can trim it down so it's all level.

  • Question for hair stylist about my hair color?

i'm a natural blond and I used natural instinks rose wood 8 months and it was a was out after 8 shampoos well it stained my hair so what shall I do? should I get my top half of my hair bleached or highlighted by a professional ? I just can not afford to get my whole head done so what do you think will look on me? also is the a clairol bleaching product out then I could try it my self I can not afford to go to sally buty supply to get what I need it's probably cheaper to have a pro do it.please if you have any ideas and pictures that will help I will great fully appreciate it.Question for hair stylist about my hair color?
are you sure it's stained? you could try getting some clairifying shampoo and using it every day to see if it will wash out the rest of the color, before you try color altering. if it is stained, you could try bleaching it out. clairol born blonde is a bleaching product that bleaches and tones in one step. there are 3 levels of born blonde. one for lighter hair, darker hair and really dark hair. you would probably only need the weakest one, but i don't know what color it stained your hair so you might need the stronger one, but i really don't think you need the strongest one. you could use it, then dye over the bleached resulting color with a dye close to your natural color and it should be fine. here's the born blonde site: http://clairol.com/niceneasy/born_blonde鈥?/a>

if i remember correctly, those are all around $10.00. as for the color after you bleach, the cheapest one is revlon colorsilk, it has no ammonia so is better for hair's health. it's around $4.00. but it is also kinda weak and doesn't really penetrate the hair shaft. if you do buy colorsilk don't buy one that says ';ash'; on it. in my experience using ash based colorsilk colors on bleached hair, it made my hair grey. but if your natural color is ashy, get a different brand. my favorite is garnier nutrisse. it's around $7.00. if you have any more questions, feel free to write me, i should be able to help. good luck!

Hair stylist wants me to let my roots grow out?

last time i got it done was about two months ago, it's a dirty blonde/champagne color, and she put a tint of red and some light brown lowlights. it's pretty faded, but it doesn't look bad. the thing i can't stand is my roots! they're a dark brown flat boring blah color, and they are an inch to two inches now. my natural hair color is dirty blonde so i don't know why they're that color anyways. but yeah she wants to just let my roots grow out and then we'll just do highlights and all that because my hair got pretty damaged from before. but it's going to look horrible with half of my hair being my roots color. my hair is a bit past the shoulders, she says it could take up to a year, and that scares me haha. what should i do? tell her no i want it done? or what?Hair stylist wants me to let my roots grow out?
well if you don't want to deal with the multi colored hair, perhaps your stylist can do a demi permanent color on your hair to match it to your roots for the time being. it's less damaging than a permanent hair color and can give your natural color a little less dull look. also, natural colors look different when it's against a lighter color. it's probably not that dark

    Hair Stylist/student..I need your help!!?

Im a natural brown head and I have been highlighting my hair for like 8 yrs.. anyways.. so my hair is practically all blonde now with the dark roots of course..so anyways by now my hair is real damaged and I wouldnt mind going brown but when I did I looked extremely pale because Im very light skinned.. so I keep trying to put real pretty bright red highlights in my hair and they keep coming out real dull..why? What should I do?..Hair Stylist/student..I need your help!!?
try getting a tanHair Stylist/student..I need your help!!?
Just put a semi permanent rinse on it in a light golden brown. You can still look good with brown hair if you have fair skin. You will have to gradually darken it, not all at once. Just try a little blush and lip gloss.

There are literally dozens of stylists out there, but I would recommend my wife's as one to think about. Unfortunately he's a little bit far compared to Hinsdale, he's in Plainfield. The name of the shop is Paul Joseph Salon and his name is Paul, (I think it may be his salon).

You can do a lot with that style.

Try straightening your hair,a nd teasing the crown into a poof, for a playful, everyday look.

if the fair is something bigger, you can try doing the poof, and adding a few waves, or flipping the ends in.

Ive seen a lot of people with that hairstyle do half updos, just tease the crown, and pin the sides up along with the poof.

    Here are some pictures:

What hair stylist in Los Angeles is great with doing hair highlites?

who is good to go to for that for blonde highlites? What hair stylist in Los Angeles is great with doing hair highlites?
I highly recommend Robin w/Kim Sun Young Beauty. She was recommended to me by one of my co-workers who's hair always looks great. I tried her out and loved her work. I do have to admit that I stopped going with her because she is a bit to far from where I live. Bad mistake, I had someone else do my highlights and totally screwed up my hair. (she was closer) I went back to Robin and she fixed the highlights. I am never letting anyone else mess with my hair. I am her customer for life. For hair stylist or people who know hair?

I washed my hair today lost like 6 strands, I have very thin fine curly hair but its very short have a well balanced diet of alot of vitamines and protein. I exercise and no stress, I have alot of hair but my question is if thats normal to shed hair, I don't wash every day and I trim every month my hair is very strong and healthy but the little 1-10 strands i shed in a day or two makes me question is it healthy. I use no damaging products or heat I keep it all natural. For hair stylist or people who know hair?
reat assured its perfectly normal, most people would lose more than 6 strands per wash,

they only time you have to worry is if it falling out alot more than is normal to you or if you have ';bald patches'; occuring (alopica). which this is not the case for you.For hair stylist or people who know hair?
I worked in a salon as a receptionist/wash gal. It was normal to see hair come out when washing and combing out. The stylist never seemed worried, and since I loose lots of hair the same way, I feel that it is normal. You have to shed hair to allow for new growth.
you shed all the time, almost 100 strands a day.. its nothing to worry about. maybe you should try a good conditioner so when you brush it it doesnt tangle.
Yeah, It's normal to 'Shed' hair..Everyone looses over 100 hair strands a day....Hair has a tendancy to come out more, when your in the shower, for some reason(or for some people.)
yep. It happens to me to.
    No Worries!

    It's normal!

  • My hair stylist cuts my hair too short?

I've been going to this lady for about 8 months now. When I first went to her, I had semi long hair with damage from highlights, color, and relaxer done all at the same time. She had to correct the color for me. I color my hair monthly using store bought products. I like coloring my hair light brown. Here is my question. I don't see any length to my hair. If anything, it is much shorter than when I initally went to her. She does a decent color job but I can't figure out what's up with my length. Years ago I had the same problem. I had major color and relaxer damage. A friend recommended a woman who in two years had my hair down my back, healthy, and full. The color I had grew out and at the same time, my hair length increased. She was able to cut my hair and keep the length long. I see the growth every month with this new person but I don't know where it's going. Half my head now is new growth so why is my hair shorter now than when I went to her 8 months ago?My hair stylist cuts my hair too short?
Your hair might be shedding do to split ends or too much heat damage. You might want to start a deep conditioning treatments and make sure you're keeping moisture on your ends especially and not applying too much heat to it.My hair stylist cuts my hair too short?
    Chemical damage.
This has never happen to me but it did I would not be mean but I'd have a talk whith her. And if she dose it to short again I'd get a new one
ask her not to cut ur hair to short! or ask why ur hair is like that.
    change ur hair stylist

The hair stylist razored my hair until there was nothing left, help?

I went to a new stylist because I didn't like my old one. She was a friend of my boyfriend's family and came recommended. I wanted it dark underneath and blond on top (a style I had in the past and loved). The color came out fine be she said she needed to razor it to let the dark color through. The problem is that she razored it so much there is almost nothing left, it's like she cut a hole into the back of my hair. She left the front and the sides pretty much alone so it looks like two different hair styles. I didn't want short hair but now I'm afraid my only option is to cut it to where the hole starts. Any ideas? The hair stylist razored my hair until there was nothing left, help?
Try putting some extensions to cover it upThe hair stylist razored my hair until there was nothing left, help?
Take Fish Oil. It makes your hair and nails grow really fast and more healthy.

Also, tell that lady what a horrible job she did!
Sue her! or at least go complain and get your money back. Good luck.
There are a whole lot of issues going on here, and I really don't know where to start. The whole thing seems to boil down to mis-communication. Someone did not understand what the other was saying.

This is a very common problem with many hairdressers and their clients. They speak different languages. What you say usually is not what you mean. We all have met people like that. And when you are speaking to a professional that understands words like layers, short, thin in different ways than does the ordinary person, I'm amazed you would ever go to a hairdresser again -- or the hairdresser ever wanting to work on people again.

I was not there, I didn't hear what was said, I didn't see the final result. I am not going to judge. The thing is that YOU don't like what SHE did, and that needs to be corrected. Obviously, she cannot put the hair back on -- that's the thing about cutting. You can complain a lot, she can give your money back, and you never see each other or speak about this incident ever again. You can't bad-mouth her if she makes a refund!

You can have some false strands put in to replace those that were cut off. You can cut the rest to blend together. Or you can learn to like what you have, learn how to style it to show off the colouring, and in a short while, the hair will be grown out quite a bit. In fact, it will soon be time for a retouch -- now, I wonder where you will go for that?

Take Hair Stylist 2 Small Claims Court 4 Stained Hair Color? She refused to fix 4 free & a total refund!?

well you see my sister recently went to the beatuy salon to get a root touch up from color AND highlights...her stylist pointed out her own mistakes, where she had mixed in the brown with the blonde making the highlight blonde from the root and brown from the middle and then finishing blonde at the ends. And in other sections the highlight began brown from the root but then finished off blonde at the ends....but her stylist assured her that they would wash off in about 3 days...after about 5 days the stains on her bleached hair hadn't washed off and she noticed that the bottom half of her roots hadn't been dyed at all!!! her roots were all black and finished off brown!....so she visited her stylist and explained the situation. Her stylist said that she would fix the bottom half for free but that she would have to charge her to fix the staind highlights. since she refuses to give back the money and refused to fix it for free and the shop owner also refused to pay...should she take her hairdresser to small claims court???Take Hair Stylist 2 Small Claims Court 4 Stained Hair Color? right i'm a hairdresser myself bu few years ago i experienced a similar situation - where colour correction went wrong.

    1) go to another salon just to get a 2nd opinion - find what they would suggest to sort the colour out and costs.

    2) go bk to the other salon, ask for a refund or for it to be done for free.

    3) go to your local trading standards if she wont do it and small claims court.

also, i dunno if ur in the UK or not, but if you are, go to ur local Citizens Advice Beauru.

in my case - i went to another salon, had a 2nd opinion, and where i didnt trust the original stylist's capabilities, i asked for a refund, which i got after writing a letter threatening small claims court and less than a week later i had a cheque with my 拢80 refund bk.

A hair stylist cut 6 inches off the length of my hair WITHOUT my permission.?

I know how everyone says ';you should have stopped him,'; but he kept turning me in the chair and physically moving my head so I could not see the length in the mirror! Before he started I gave him EXPLICIT instructions on the length I wanted to KEEP. And afterwards, I accused him of cutting it on purpose and he did not deny it! What sort of recourse do I have? Can I sue him? This has really upset me, and I feel that I have been wronged and from what I can tell, I have no recourse.A hair stylist cut 6 inches off the length of my hair WITHOUT my permission.?
politely ask for a refund or vow never to recommend the hairdressers to anyone ever again

demand to speak to the manager and write a letter of complaint

but no- you can;t sue i'm afraid because its not like hes injured you or anything

    and in the future

1.never go back there again :P

    2. take a picture in to show the length you want

    3. keep a close eye on what the hairdresser is doing and keep asking to see it

    4. go to a hairdresser you trust.

theres always a solution... hair extensions are very popular

the cheapest ones are 30 pound and these last around a month as they are not realy hair

but if you are willing to splash the cash, try and get 80 pound hair extensions because they are real hair and last for around a year- your hair will have grown back by then :)

hope this helps!A hair stylist cut 6 inches off the length of my hair WITHOUT my permission.?
well i would go back to the styalist store and file a complaint to the manager. storeowner.

And if they dont agree to give you your free refund, dont leave, you are a rightful costumer and if they cut you hair with out your full permission then you have every right to get your refund.

stand up. go there. and get what you deserve,
Err, I don't think you can sue him unless he chemically damaged your hair or something. So no, you probably can't.

Just demand a refund and find a new stylist. Try searching for hairstyles that work with your new cut.
It's quite likely that you will not be able to sue, and the trouble won't be worth it. Demand a refund, find a new stylist to style your hair in a nice way while you grow it out, and take vitamins, like Hairtopia.
Did you specify what length you wanted the hair? Well you're totally within your rights to get a full refund as he didn't give you what you payed for
Sueing him for cutting too much off your hair? Yeah. You'll win that.

Go to the Manager, and complain to her/him.
You can't sue someone over HAIR. Might as well sue someone for never returning a borrowed pencil.

All you can do is tell the management what happened, demand a refund, and never go back.

Regardless, you easily could have said ';stop cutting my hair now'; and walked away if you KNEW what he was going.

EDIT: You can file a complaint with the management of the place where you got your hair cut. So if it was at a salon, just talk to the managers or the owners of the location and ask to file a complaint against the stylist. If others have filed complaints against this stylist, then the person will likely be fired, and if not then the owners will probably go hard on the stylist and watch their every move.

  • Hair Color question (hair stylist reply)?

    READ THE WHOLE THING, PLEASE

i'm planning on dyeing my hair either

a red/brown color or light brown but

the problem is my hair is previously dyed

so i don't know if the color will take.

i dyed my hair black a year and a half ago

(my natural color is medium brown)

and my hair is pretty much back to its natural

    color or so it seems.

i was told that even though my hair isn't black

anymore, the color won't take because i still

have color molecules in my hair. is that true?

(she also told me to use a hair color remover

on the colored parts but since my hair looks like

my natural color i don't really know where the colored

    parts are.)

also, any suggestions on how i should go about

coloring my hair are appreciated.Hair Color question (hair stylist reply)?
    first.. always remember

    color will not lighten color

    only bleach will

    with that being said

since you colored your hair so long ago.. your black hair must be pretty long by now

but still it will not lighten very much with a lighter color

try using what is called a soap cap in the biz

    do it with bleach

the way to do this is

get some bleach.. follow directions with 40 vol peroxide

and add some shampoo to it so it will become easy to spread

start applying it on wet hair.... and start from the bottom and leave it on the bottom part for an additional few minutes

then put it on your whole hair and leave it on about 5 minutes

re do this every wash until you get it the lightness that you want

when it is where you want it to be....... color it the color you want

after every procedure.. use a good conditioner to keep your hair from getting too terribly brittle

good luckHair Color question (hair stylist reply)?
If your hair is definitely free of the black altogether then dyeing it red or reddish brown in theory should take.

However, if there is any black colour remaining and you can actually see it then it will not take over black.

A hairdresser could release most of the colour and then start from that point.

It sounds ok, but make sure the black dye is definitely not present.
yes you can never dye lighter only darker

so if you want something lighter you must take out the color - once you do that feel free to dye away.

if you just dye it now even tho it looks like your normal color, it will only dye at the growth since you dyed it the place that was previously dyed it will just get really dark
Go to a beauty shop and they can help you there!
NEVER DO BLACK AGAIN LOL, IM A HAIRSTYLIST N THATS THE #1 MISTAKE, EVEN IF U THINK ITS GONE ITS NOT. ANOTHER THING AFTER DYING UR HAIR RED IT HARD TO TAKE OUT, WOULDNT BOTHER, JUST STICK WITH THE LIGHT BROWN. GO TO A PROFESSIONAL SALON, MAKE SURE THEY STRAND TEST FIRST
No, I don't think that ';molecules'; would still be in your hair?? haha.

I dyed mine caramel highlights, hated it because it went orange and dyed it the next day to brown and worked like a charm!

I think you may want to get it professionally done though, because they know exactly how to apply it and their chemicals are MUCH less harmmful on your hair.. (so I was told.. LoL.)

    anyways,

good luck with the great new color!

I had this same problem...I dyed my hair and then wanted to change it later even though most the black had seemed to disappear. I know that you don't want to hear this but the best option is to go to a stylist and get the color stripped. If you put a color in now it could turn out as anything. For instance, I dyed my a darker red then my natural...it appeared to fade out to my natural color so I added black highlights. They came out purple because even though it didn't look like it I still had color in it. The best way to fix this is to let it grow out or get it stripped by a sylist. Sorry!
I've been doing hair for about 5 years and this is what you need to do... First of all, go to your stylist and make sure all of the old color is out of your hair. If it isn't, cut it so that it is all out. Otherwise, where the old color is, the new color won't take. If there's too much to cut off, your stylist will have to strip out the black first. You should NEVER use a color eraser on your own... just spend the money and get it done right. If your stylist told you to do it yourself, you might want to find a new one. If you have not colored any of your re-growth or virgin hair, there aren't any ';left over'; color molecules. That is B.S.... Here are some ideas: If you want to keep the color the same for a while, go ahead and do permanent... but if you like to change it a lot, ask your stylist to use a demi-permanent color (I use Matrix ColorSync). It won't damage your hair because there's no peroxide in it. It fades out gradually so by the time you'd have to get a retouch, you're back to your natural color again(about 6 weeks or so). But with using a demi-permanent color you cannot go any lighter than you already are. It is deposit only. But, maybe you could ask your stylist if he/she could put some light brown highlights through the top. That way you can get the best of both worlds. I don't recommend all over color usually unless if you have the time and money to spend on your hair... but you could also get it all highlighted and lowlighted to enhance your natural hair color. FYI... summer is coming and red fades the fastest of all colors. Good Luck!

My hair stylist ruined my hair, what should I do?

My best friend always has the best hair, so she recommended her stylist who is also her good friend. the first time i got my hair done it looks great. I got blonde with black undertones in my bangs and peeking out of my longer hairs. I just got my hair redone, this time i went all blonde, and i wanted the black taken out, but it turned out orange. She charged me $225 and told me to come back next week.

So I went back yesterday, she couldn't get the black out so it's still orange, and I wanted a bang trim but it came out too short. I wanted side bangs too, but they're straight bangs, and my roots already look like they need to be touched up, and she charged me $55 for her ';fixing'; it.

She worked independently, so she doesn't work for a salon. What should I do? My friends say I should send an email asking for her to fix it again for free or give me my money back.

HELP!My hair stylist ruined my hair, what should I do?
ok well you are not going to get black hair blond on the first visit. it will take more than one. yes have her fix it btw your friend will still go to her and most likely side with her. anyway.. let her fix it but tell her since you cannot get the black to lift out nicely please make it a color you can deal with ...like brown light brown.. i understand her charging you the first time for the change but this time should really be free. unless orcoarse she told you the risks of trying to get that black to blond and you wanted to do it anyway.. in that case you pay her again. cause if you already knew then you made a informed but bad decision.. p.s. 225 for someone doing it out of thier house??that is a lot.. because well at lest where I live it is against the law to be doing hair as a biz in your house. i would be if she is doing it in her house... she doesn't have insuranceMy hair stylist ruined my hair, what should I do?
dont send her an email. speak to her ace to face and tell her what she did wrong, and she should give you the 55 dollars back. as far as ur hair goes. just dye it urself with hair dye. and ket it grow out.
Email her and explain that it was not professional or good. Ask for some of your money back. Then go to a real salon, a big company one, and have them do it. There are certain standards if you go to a good enough one (which with what youre paying you can) and it is assured to come out right or they fix it for no cost.
Unfortunately you have very little recourse here. Normally you would deal with the salon owner at this point. Part of what sometimes goes wrong is that our words to describe what we want dont mean the same thing to the person we're describing it to. With hairdressers, it's always best to bring in tons of pictures. You also have to realize that it may be impossible to do certain things. Or it could be possible but there's a risk of so much damage the hair could fall out. True black is difficult at best to remove, still.... Talk to your friend, tell her what's wrong and tell her that you are in a bit of a bind. You want your hair to be right but you don't want to wreck your friendship over this. You've spent enough money already, this situation should have been resolved, or at least she should tell you that she can't fix it. Lastly, when it comes to business arrangements (and this is) it's always best to keep friends out of the mix. Good Luck.
OMG! that is horrible, when someone tries to tone down black hair you usually need to use peroxide before you dye your hair. Also, I think she is ripping you off this the second time that I hear about some getting over charge for a hair cut or a dye. Around my way wich is NYC specifically uptown manhattan a dye is around $50 and that is with the wash and blowdry depend how your hair is... they offer different ways for the same price. What I recomend is for you to dye your hair a ash brown to cover up and PLEASE don't go back to that girl ever again.
She should have insurance to cover these problems. Talk to her in person, and tell her she needs to pay for someone else to fix her mistakes. She has had her chance, and has not fixed your hair when she had a chance. I don't think she should have charged you for the repair of her mistakes. Remember, there is always small claims court if she does not want to work with you to fix this. Take lots of pictures, get out your receipts, and if you need to, go to court. It is free, it just takes your time. If you have the documentation, I am betting you should be able to get all your money back.

I would not get my friend involved in this. She was always happy with the work this stylist did, and acted in good faith. She was not trying to steer you wrong. Remember, the stylist has to have a licence to work, and you can always lodge a complaint against her, as well as trying to recover your money in small claims court.
you should have told the stylist in the first place that she needed to fix it before you paid her the first time! good luck trying to get your money back!
