Hair Stylist in Training and Needing Some Fashion Advice?

I am currently a hairstylist in training and I need some ideas for what to wear in a salon? I'm a slightly heavier girl and I want something that is flattering and trendy but I really have no ideas where to start thats appropriate...Hair Stylist in Training and Needing Some Fashion Advice?
A lot of the lady's in the salon I use (some of them hare heavier) wear calf length pants or capris with comfortable flat shoes with a nice shirt or sweater depending on the season.

Something like this..

You are well on your way for the shear fact that you are aware of your body type. I find so many people haven't a clue and dress like teenagers or like a size 0. There are so many factors to consider..

Don't spend a lot of money on clothing for work because you will get stains on them and it isn't fun having to replace expensive garments. In the fall/winter, wear boots with tights, skirts and cute tops. Buy trendy items at inexpensive stores - the trends will change quickly and being in this industry requires that you are on the cutting edge of fashion. I personally buy a lot of black and then accessorize with color and trendy shoes. But make sure your shoes are comfortable because you'll be standing all day.
start with a basic tee-shirt and short/jeans and work your way up

not a lot of people dress up though.

wear a jacket with a cool shirt under it once in awhile.

you could just go to salons and see whay they wear
All black is always a great choice. Go for a nice comfortable pair of wedge sandals. A great pair of black slacks from new york %26amp; Co. a cute black shirt. Perhaps a black CASUAL blazer, if you are top heavy.
You can wear a bright color shirt that complements your hair eyes or skin
