Is my hair stylist wrong?

Today, I dyed my hair for the first time ever. My original hair color is black. I wanted a medium brown type of color but, the hair stylist kept telling me to get something reddish so I listened and took Coppertone, which it brownish red-orange and it was a really light color by the way. So after 1 brutal hour to my hair it came out completely black. Then, while I was looking at it, she started saying ';Oh my god, it's so beautiful'; when I saw absolutely no change. I was soooo mad. I'm really mad beacause I go back to school in 3 days and I wanted to change my hair. So is it my fault for not getting something exactly reddish or hers for not doing a good job?Is my hair stylist wrong?
Hi, i gues ur stylist dont get wat u want.. (either she/he is new in the trade or not professional enough.) wat do u tink of it ursef: did the stylist mt ur expectation? the amount u spend worth the result? If both ans NO. (gues u gto change a stylist.) =)Is my hair stylist wrong?
well the first time you see it you wont see a change. but arter you wash it a few times it will become lighter. after that when you walk in the sun the red should reflect or glow.

trust me it should be noticable soon.
I definatly agree with the people above me. she made a mistake and obviously faked liking it when the hair turned out wrong. tell the manager or owner. they should totally give you your money back or do it again for free.... if your lucky both.
Doesn't matter who's right or wrong (though it sounds like you're right). You're not happy with it and so you have the right to get it redone free of charge.
YA ITS HER FAULT CUZ SHE DINT DO WAHAT U WANTED HER 2 DO IN THE BEGINING IM SRY THAT HAD 2 HAPPEN I GOT HAIR DIED YESTRDAY BUT JUST HIGHLIGHTS AND THE LADY WHO DID IT I LOVED SHE HAD THIS GREAT ORANGE RED COLOR HAIR ITS BEAUTIFUL LOL WELL GOOD LUCK
You are both wrong to not acknowledge the problem and take care of it asap. call her and tell her you don't like it and ask her to change it. Sometimes when you color or perm hair for the first time it acts funny. but if your hair is naturally dark it will pull red when going lighter.
yep i think she was wrong unless your hair was a coppertoneish color anyway without u knowing
defintely for her not doing a good job, whether you have pink or purple or black hair, if you ask to get your hair a specific color, it should come out with atleast some noticable change. she clearly didnt do a satisfying job for you and only said omg its beautiful because she wants her money. i would go back and demanda refund or atleast make her fix it.
Confused with your hair style, and want to look punk or something different from others - watch it out here:
Being a professional hairstylist you would think that they would know you cant dye over black without bleaching first. You paid for a service and you didn't get what you wanted. I would say the fault is all theirs.
yes she is wrong she doesnt know color very well if your storie is true you need to pre lighten your hair then tone it to the color you want best toner is redken color call around even jc pennys has so color tell hem what i said to do and see if they agree!
in order to make black hair brown you would have to use a product that would lift the color. (ex. bleach) i think she may be lying.
she needs to go back to school. everyone knows you can`t dye over black. you have to bleach it first before anything. you should get your money back.
