Best friend is a hair stylist - but I want to go to someone else...?

We've been very close friends since 6th grade (we're now 27). She's been doing my hair for a couple years. She's OK, but not outstanding. And god knows how expensive haircut and colors are, so I want to go somewhere else where I'll get an amazing style.





How can I break it to her without hurting her feelings or making her mad. Cause obviously she's gonna notice after I get it done.

Tell her that this other person you're going to go to came HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by a bunch of people you know (coworkers or some group of people that she doesn't know) and you really want to give the new person a try and see how they do.... Or tell her you got a gift certificate from someone to go to that other person, so since it's free you're going to go to the other person. Just tell her that you want a change and that she probably can't do it. Tell her you want something more 'pizzaz' =D It wouldn't break her heart that way.
Tell her you've had the same stylist for a long time and don't want to change.
